Q: What percentage of your students pass the state board licensing exam?

A: Our rates rank among the highest in the state. On average, 98% of our Cosmetology, Esthetics and Nail Technology students pass the state board exam.

Q: Does Michigan College of Beauty assist with job placement?

A: Definitely. And while we don’t guarantee placement, finding meaningful employment for our Cosmetology, Esthetics and Nail Technology graduates is rarely a problem. Many of our students have jobs waiting for them upon graduation. And a large number of employers post their job openings right on our website.

Q: Does MCB feature modern facilities?

A: Our recently renovated facility features 8700 square feet of space with state-of-the-art equipment and instructional techniques.

Q: Do you offer day and evening classes?

A: Yes. We currently offer day and evening classes for all of our programs.

Q: Do you offer financial aid?

A: Yes. Michigan College of Beauty is accredited by the National Accrediting Commission of Cosmetology Arts and Sciences (NACCAS). Financial Aid is available for those that qualify. The application for financial aid is free and can be completed online at the FAFSA website (www.FAFSA.ed.gov) or by setting up an appointment with the financial aid office at Michigan College of Beauty. Q: What is Pivot Point?

A: Pivot Point is our curriculum for the Cosmetology program. We are one of only two Pivot Point schools in the entire Ann Arbor/Detroit/Toledo area. Widely recognized as the gold standard in cosmetology training methodology, a Pivot Point education provides the best, most comprehensive hair and beauty education in the US and around the world. We’ll teach you to see and think, create and adapt as a designer.

Q: What products do you feature at Michigan College of Beauty?

A: MCB is not a “product school” concentrating on only one line of products. At MCB, students will gain experience with a wide variety of products, including but not limited to: Redken; OPI; Dermalogica; Design Essentials; OFRA, Matrix and many others.

A: Locally owned and operated for over 70 years, Michigan College of Beauty has enjoyed continuous operations since 1939.

Q: Does Michigan College of Beauty offer hands-on instruction?

A: Absolutely. Students spend considerable time in our full-service student salon providing a wide-range of services to the public. And all along the way, our students are assisted by knowledgeable, highly-qualified instructors that provide continuous feedback and guidance.

Q: Do students have opportunities to take part in competitions?

A: Yes! We hold an annual Hair Show each Spring. In addition, many of our students compete in area hair shows.
