Michigan College of Beauty — Monroe proudly celebrated its 75th anniversary in 2014. First opened in 1939, the college is locally owned and operated and has been since its origin. It became a Pivot Point member school in 1982. Initially the college offered cosmetology classes, and then added nail technician and manicuring classes. An advanced esthetics program was added in 1999. Today the college boasts a student body of approximately 150, enrolled full or part-time.
In 2010 the college moved to its current location and doubled its size with an enlarged clinic area to serve the public with hair care, skin care and nail care needs. Classrooms also increased in number and size. In keeping with its history of offering the highest quality education, the college is outfitted with smart boards in all classrooms, wi-fi throughout the building, and IPads are issued to all students for online learning access. The instructional staff at MCB is committed to continuing their education as well, by annually taking graduate classes in cosmetology, esthetics and nail technology.
